Policies and Procedures
Cancellation policy for medical illness
If you contact your instructor up to 1 hour before lessons for an emergency medical reason, lessons will be rescheduled.
If an illness in the family prevents lessons from occurring, you are expected to give notice the day prior.
Cancelation Policy for Non-Medical Reasons
For non-medical and emergency reasons, the cancellation policy is 24 hours.
Other reasons that require cancellation include the inability to heat the pool, weather not conducive for learning or unsafe (extreme heat, pouring rain and thunderstorms), and injury.
Cancelation within 12 hours will result in an automatic charge and will not be refunded or rescheduled.
Cancelation within the 24 to 12 hours before lessons will not be refunded but will be offered to reschedule.
Instructor Cancelation
The instructor is able to cancel for reasons such as cold, intense heat, lightening, or pool temperature.
Pool temperature must be over 80 degrees, and this is expected to be within reason for colder days. The instructor reserves the right to remove students from lessons if they are shivering, blue and no longer focusing on lessons. If the pool temp is below 80, the instructor can cancel lessons and they are non-refundable.
If the weather and temperature is over 30 and no shade is provided for the instructor for lessons over 1 hour, lessons will also be cancelled with no refund.
Lightening is a safety issue and lessons will be immediately cancelled and will not proceed.
Safety Precautions
Being in and around bodies of water comes with some assumed risks. For this reason, children struggling to listen and therefore causing safety in a group setting will be asked to be removed or participate in a private lesson.
Parents are expected to maintain supervision up to the child getting in the water and immediately proceeding with lessons. The teacher is not responsible for caring for the child after their lesson. This will come with an additional cost if you seek someone to supervise your children in the water after lessons.
Should the weather not be conducive for lessons (pouring rain or thunder), lessons will be cancelled.
Changing Class Times
If you need to request a change in class times for an entire set, this request must be submitted at least one week before the first day of lessons.
If you need to change an individual lesson time, this request must be submitted 24 hours before the start of the lesson in question.
Private learning environments
Lauren Blakemore Aquatics deliberately does not teach more than four students in a lesson and offers them at private homes and facilities because of the effectiveness of a quiet learning environment. If the parents or siblings of the learners are distracting to the lesson, they may be kindly asked to remove themselves from the pool deck.
