A lot has changed in the last year so I thought it would be an excellent time for a fresh update. How has Lauren Blakemore Aquatics evolved since 2018.

When I first started aquatics, I loved teaching swimmers to grow and develop their abilities; being in the water and having fun was how I made my income for the summers. Throughout university, I continued to work through the summers (2019-2023). These years filled me with joy because I got out of the classroom and met new people, and it built into me a desire to be a teacher.

Upon graduating with my BA, I started teaching in Chilliwack. My husband (11/ 25/ 2023) and I moved to Chilliwack to begin our new life together, and this beautiful part of the Fraser Valley has become our home. We joyfully love our area, situated near the Vedder and in the garrison area. Your former Ms. Blakemore is Mrs. Dyck, but this business I built up will remain Lauren Blakemore Aquatics, and my kiddos can continue to call me Coach Lauren or Mrs D if you prefer.

What does this mean for the future? Honestly, I have little clue or knowledge of where the Lord will continue to draw my husband and me in the coming years. We would love to remain in the Fraser Valley, and I still have schooling I would like to accomplish. However, it’s up to the will of the Lord. For now, I’m happy and love teaching aquatics for as long as I can.

A few things you should know about me!

  • I am not a summer person, but I love the fall; being in the pools helps me survive the heat!
  • I am a book lover and avid history buff.
  • I am a nerd, so bring on the kiddos who love Star Wars, video gaming, and more. I love connecting with my kiddos about their interests.
  • I am a cat person. I love dogs, but cats are my love language. Our cat’s name is Chai Latte.
  • If I am not in the pools or spending time with my husband, my favourite place in the summer is the garden. I love growing beautiful things that bless me with natural remedies and fantastic drinks. My favourite flower is the Peony.
  • If I could live anywhere outside of Canada, I would more to The Netherlands. I love to travel and have been to over a dozen major European cities with plans to visit more
